The Role
Based on-site at HMP Brixton, you will work with small groups of learners, delivering engaging and practical training in Wall & Floor Tiling.
You will support learners to develop industry-relevant skills, build confidence, achieve qualifications, and prepare for employment opportunities upon release.
Key responsibilities include
- Delivering engaging practical and theory-based Wall & Floor Tiling training.
- Planning and delivering structured learning programmes.
- Assessing learner progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Providing guidance, encouragement, and individual support.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Supporting learners to achieve qualifications and personal goals.
- Adapting teaching methods to meet a variety of learning needs.
- Promoting health and safety best practices within workshop environments.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about their trade and committed to helping others succeed.
- Level 2 qualification (or above) in Wall & Floor Tiling.
- Significant hands-on industry experience.
- Experience delivering training, coaching, mentoring, or vocational instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, CET, DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
- Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent).
- Experience working within prison education, adult learning, apprenticeships, or employability programmes.
If you do not currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification, support may be available to help you achieve the relevant qualification while in post.
