We are looking for a skilled and motivated Carpentry Tutor to join the education team at HMP Feltham. In this role, you will deliver engaging, hands-on carpentry training to small groups of learners, helping them develop practical trade skills, knowledge, and workplace behaviours. You will support learners in building confidence, achieving qualifications, and working towards future employment within the construction industry. About Prison Education
Prison education plays a key role in rehabilitation by equipping individuals with skills and qualifications that support successful reintegration into society. You will work with adult learners who may have experienced barriers to education but are motivated to develop new skills. With smaller class sizes and a structured environment, you can deliver meaningful, practical learning that leads to real opportunities.
Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 qualification in Carpentry (essential)
- Experience delivering vocational or practical training (desirable)

- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Passion for helping learners develop skills and confidence
- Teaching or assessing qualification (e.g. AET, PTLLS, TAQA)
No teaching qualification? Full support and funding will be provided to help you gain the required qualifications during your probation period.
