Business Tutor to join our education team at HMP Isis.
This is a unique opportunity to support learners in developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to pursue employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities upon release.
Working with small groups of adult learners, you will deliver engaging and practical
Level 2 and Level 3 SFEDI Business qualifications , helping individuals develop valuable business knowledge while supporting their personal and professional development.
The Role
As a Business Tutor, you will deliver high-quality business and enterprise education in a supportive learning environment, encouraging learners to achieve recognised qualifications and develop aspirations for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Level 2 and Level 3 SFEDI Business programmes.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire learners and promote achievement.
- Support learners to develop business knowledge, entrepreneurial skills, and commercial awareness.
- Teach key topics such as business planning, marketing, finance, customer service, and enterprise.
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare learners for assessments and qualification achievement.
- Create an inclusive learning environment that supports learners with varying abilities and educational backgrounds.
- Maintain accurate learner records, assessments, and progress reviews.
- Support learners in building confidence, employability skills, and future career aspirations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and prison staff to ensure a positive learner experience.
What We're Looking For
- A Business qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant industry experience in business, entrepreneurship, management, administration, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification at Level 4 or above.
- Experience delivering training, teaching, coaching, or vocational learning.
- Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- A passion for helping individuals achieve their goals through education.
- Experience delivering and assessing Business qualifications.
- Experience teaching Level 2 and Level 3 programmes.
- Knowledge of SFEDI Business and Enterprise qualifications.
- Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent).
- Experience within adult education, further education, employability programmes, apprenticeships, or prison education.
- Understanding of OFSTED and quality assurance requirements.
