The Role

You’ll deliver engaging, practical training in cycle maintenance and repair up to Level 2, helping learners develop industry-relevant skills in a workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver hands-on cycle mechanics training aligned with recognised qualifications.
  • Create engaging lesson plans and schemes of work that meet curriculum standards.
  • Assess learner progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Support individual learning plans, identifying and addressing additional needs.
  • Embed literacy, numeracy, and employability skills into your sessions.
  • Promote safe working practices and maintain a positive workshop culture.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with education and support staff to ensure learner success.
  • Encourage progression into further training, education, or employment opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 2 years’ experience in cycle mechanics, bike repair, or a related field.
  • Qualification in cycle mechanics, engineering, or similar (Level 2+).
  • Strong practical skills in diagnostics, servicing, and repair.
  • A willingness to gain a teaching qualification within 6 months.
  • Commitment to achieving assessor and subject-specific qualifications.
  • Good communication skills and ability to engage learners positively.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy (Level 1 or willingness to achieve).
  • Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check.
  • Teaching or assessing qualifications (AET, TAQA, etc.).
  • Experience delivering training or working with diverse learners.
  • Level 2 literacy and numeracy.
