This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator to teach and support learners across a range of Art & Design programmes, helping them develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence required for progression into higher education and the creative industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Art & Design lessons to Further Education students.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to promote achievement and progression.
  • Support learners in developing creative portfolios and practical projects.
  • Monitor attendance, progress, and achievement, maintaining accurate records.
  • Differentiate teaching and learning to meet individual learner needs.
  • Participate in curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
  • Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.
  • Contribute to open evenings, exhibitions, enrichment activities, and departmental meetings.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.

Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).

  • Degree in Art & Design or a related creative discipline.
  • Previous experience teaching Art & Design within a Further Education, Secondary, Adult Learning, or Higher Education setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and practical expertise in Art & Design.
  • Experience assessing and monitoring learner progress.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
