This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator to teach and support learners across a range of Art & Design programmes, helping them develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence required for progression into higher education and the creative industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Art & Design lessons to Further Education students.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities that meet curriculum requirements.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to promote achievement and progression.
- Support learners in developing creative portfolios and practical projects.
- Monitor attendance, progress, and achievement, maintaining accurate records.
- Differentiate teaching and learning to meet individual learner needs.
- Participate in curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
- Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.
- Contribute to open evenings, exhibitions, enrichment activities, and departmental meetings.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
- Degree in Art & Design or a related creative discipline.
- Previous experience teaching Art & Design within a Further Education, Secondary, Adult Learning, or Higher Education setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and practical expertise in Art & Design.
- Experience assessing and monitoring learner progress.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
