The Protein Ball Co is a fast-growing food manufacturer based in Worthing. We produce high-quality protein snacks for leading brands and retailers, operating to the highest food safety and quality standards.
We are looking for experienced Production Operatives from a food manufacturing background to join our team. In-person interview required, followed by a 2-hour practical assessment.
Key Attributes We're Looking For:- Previous experience in food manufacturing (minimum 2 years – essential)
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and flexible
- Ability to use initiative
- Adaptable to changing production schedules
- Basic literacy, numeracy and computer skills (data entry, machine interfaces, inventory tracking)
- Good English communication skills
- Physically fit – able to stand for long periods and lift up to 20kg
- Strong team player
- Problem-solving ability (identifying machine/process/quality issues)
- Ability to carry out quality checks and record data accurately
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Food Hygiene & Safety Level 2
- Minimum 2 years' experience in food manufacturing
- Allergen Awareness (peanut, milk, egg and other nuts)
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
You will work across our protein ball, keto ball and porridge production lines. Duties include:
- Operating food processing equipment (mixers, conveyors, packaging machines)
- Weighing ingredients accurately
- Packing finished goods (manual packing and flow lines)
- Ensuring product quality throughout the production process
- Following specifications and work instructions
- Maintaining hygiene and housekeeping standards
- Performing quality checks and reporting deviations
- Preventing contamination risks
- Complying with traceability and labelling requirements
- Adhering strictly to Health & Safety, GMP, Food Safety and Quality Assurance procedures
You will be expected to communicate any concerns or process improvement opportunities to your Supervisor or Manager, including:
- Health & Safety issues
- High wastage
- Poor quality
- Errors or mistakes
- Food safety concerns
- No jewellery (except plain wedding band)
- No piercings (unless medically required with GP evidence)
- No makeup, false eyelashes, perfume/aftershave
- No false nails or nail varnish
