How you’ll power our business as a Service Engineer

Are you an experienced Service Engineer looking for your next challenge? At Protech Group, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, reliable and high-quality service, commissioning and reactive repair solutions across a diverse range of gas, LPG, oil and HVAC systems.

Working across a varied customer base, you'll be responsible for servicing, commissioning and maintaining plant and equipment, ensuring all work is completed to industry standards and manufacturer specifications. You'll be part of a professional team that is committed to safety, technical excellence and outstanding customer service, while supporting clients with efficient solutions that keep their operations running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Service, commission and carry out reactive repairs on a range of natural gas, LPG, oil-fired and HVAC appliances.
  • Maintain and service plant equipment including boilers, pumps, pressurisation sets, expansion vessels and flue systems.
  • Ensure all servicing and maintenance activities are completed in accordance with manufacturer instructions and industry standards.
  • Participate in a regional call-out rota to provide responsive support to customers.
  • Carry out fault finding and identify remedial works where required.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors and colleagues.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, following site-specific RAMS, COSHH information and company HSEQ procedures.
  • Accurately complete documentation, timesheets and service records.
  • Maintain company equipment and vehicles to a high standard.
  • Identify opportunities for additional works and provide accurate quotations where appropriate.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain technical competence and industry certifications.

What we’ll need from you

  • Previous experience in a Service Engineer, Heating Engineer, HVAC Engineer or similar field-based engineering role.
  • Experience servicing, commissioning and repairing gas, LPG, oil or HVAC systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • A proactive and professional approach to work.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining technical competence.
  • Full UK driving licence.
