Who are we looking for from you?

  • Engagement Skills: Ability to engage learners and support their ambitions. To bring fresh ideas and creativity to the classroom and outside it.
  • Emotional Support: Passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives.
  • Academic Background: Degree in a Relevant Teaching Subject, equivalent for SEN (desirable).
  • Core Teaching Qualifications: Teaching Qualification in (QTS/QTLS) or be willing to work towards it.
  • Specialist Teaching Qualification: (Desirable Experience: Have worked in a school environment. Particularly, experience in secondary school would be an added advantage.)
  • Teaching Subjects: English, Maths, and Science Proficiency, a minimum of grade 4/C or higher.
  • Knowledge: Have an understanding of alternative provision and dealing with students with special needs.
  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for solving problems and making effective decisions.
  • Communication: Professional communication with students and staff.
  • Promotion of Values: Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, safeguarding, wellbeing, and British values.
  • Time Management: Effective time management for planning, delivery, and assessment.

About the School: At the Northampton school, we have a bright and colourful recreational area, where students can enjoy their downtime, such as breakfast club, breaks and their lunch period. We have four spacious classrooms, all equipped with either interactive Smart boards or projectors so all lessons can include innovative resources. Our students are Key Stage 3 and 4 but must be at least 13 years of age. Progress Schools is part of The Progress Group, which is made up of six business units, each of which aspires to innovate, influence, and inspire others through high-quality and purposeful education and training.
