About the Role
The Trade Desk Administrator plays a key role in delivering an exceptional client experience as part of our high-value client proposition. Working closely with Client Executives, Paraplanners, and Financial Planners, the role supports clients by providing specialist trading administration and managing complex transactional activity. There may also be opportunities to support more intricate cases across other client segments. As a subject matter expert within Wealth Operations, the Trade Desk Administrator will gradually take on broader and more technical responsibilities. A collaborative and supportive team member, you will be passionate about delivering outstanding service to both clients and colleagues and enjoy working in partnership to achieve the best possible outcomes. This role requires the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a positive and resilient approach in a fast-paced environment. You will be experienced in managing multiple priorities, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and consistently produce high-quality, thorough work.
The focus of this role will be to complete all duties at a technical level, with additional responsibility for:
- Trading: Collaborate with Financial Planning Administrators, Financial Planners, and Paraplanners to accurately execute trading activity across multiple platforms, ensuring efficiency, compliance and a consistently high standard of quality and accuracy.
- Maintaining documentation: ensure appropriate client or financial planner consent is recorded on file in advance of trading activities.
- Client account management: ensure any additional high-value client requests are completed, including all post-client meeting trading actions.
- Process management: undertake all processes required by the Technical Trading Administrator role and manage intricate trading tasks.
- Technical work: perform tasks such as CGT checks; understanding Pension Income (Flexi and Capped Drawdown); Offshore Bond income – chargeable gains; Discretionary Fund Managers and assessment of suitability letters.
- Supporting the team: share knowledge and best practice within the wider Client Executive and Paraplanning teams for clarity and to avoid errors.
- Data and system management: fully competent across platforms and systems, including maintaining our CRM accurately.

Our ideal person
The role holder will have experience of working in financial services (2+ years) and be fully competent in all processes and tasks performed within a Financial Planning Administration role. You will possess a sound understanding of financial products, FCA principles and regulatory standards. A tech-savvy individual, you will be fully proficient in Microsoft Office, with a strong knowledge of a range of provider platforms and the ability to interpret and analyse reports confidently. With a passion for delivering high-quality, detailed work that meets the needs of both clients and colleagues, you will demonstrate excellent organisational skills and a strong drive to achieve results. As a subject matter expert, you will use your specialist knowledge to collaboratively solve problems, share best practices, and support the development of others through coaching and knowledge-sharing. You will demonstrate initiative and complete tasks in a methodical and efficient manner. Working autonomously within your areas of expertise, while recognising when to escalate more complex matters for additional support. Comfortable taking on new challenges, you will be eager to continuously develop your technical knowledge and skill set. The Senior Trade Desk Administrator plays a vital role in our client proposition, so a client-centric mindset and passion for delivering operational excellence are essential for success in this role.

A qualification in Financial Services is highly desirable but not essential. If you are keen to start or continue with a professional qualification (i.e. CII), we will discuss the appropriateness of exam/qualification with you, taking account of your interests and career aspirations.
