Summary of role: As Photographer, you will be a vital member of our creative team. You will specialise in creative still life and flat lay photography for M&S e-commerce & digital. You'll contribute to the creation of premium, on-brand imagery that supports both commercial and creative ambitions across multiple platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to help define the visual identity of M&S at a pivotal point in its creative journey.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Shoot high-quality still life and flat lay product imagery for e-commerce, print and digital channels
  • Process imagery in line with M&S brand guidelines and seasonal art direction
  • Ensure all content meets quality standards and delivery deadlines
  • Collaborate with art direction, styling, retouching, and production teams to ensure the in-house photography teams are working efficiently and producing best in class content at all times.
  • Assist on model shoots where necessary
  • Continuously test, refine, and evolve your photographic techniques
  • Work with M&S on setting new photographic directions where relevant to remain current at all times.
  • Maintain studio equipment and contribute to the day-to-day upkeep of the photography space
  • Stay informed on industry trends and technological advancements, sharing insights with the wider team
  • Work with Post Production team with the cataloguing and organisation of visual assets
  • Manage multiple projects effectively with a flexible, solutions-oriented approach
  • Ensure all output aligns with M&S brand strategy and customer expectations

You are:

  • Fashion focused with a sharp eye for product presentation and contemporary visual trends
  • Experienced in still life and flat photography within a fast-paced commercial studio, ideally in fashion or retail
  • Technically confident using lighting and photographic equipment
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Experienced or familiar with Capture One Pro and Mac-based systems
  • Organised, efficient, and self-motivated, with excellent time management skills
  • A proactive team player who collaborates well and communicates clearly
  • Adaptable to changing project needs and open to trying new methods or workflows
  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering consistently high-quality content
  • Passionate about visual storytelling and eager to contribute to a dynamic creative environment.
