The Production Factory is a global production agency working across stills and film, producing high-end visual content for fashion, luxury, beauty, lifestyle, and culture’s most forward-thinking brands, creatives, and agencies. From concept to final delivery, we handle the full production journey - bringing ideas to life through thoughtful planning, expert production, and industry-leading post-production.
We are looking for a highly organised and creative Studio Manager to oversee our ecommerce studio, producing high-volume, on-brand imagery that drives conversion and supports content for George’s digital channels. You will play an essential role in producing high-level content and have an excellent understanding of the nuances of creative across photography and post-production.
You will manage end-to-end studio workflows from shoot planning and scheduling through to final asset delivery, while leading a talented team of Photographers, Stylists, Hair & Make-up Artists, Re-touchers, and Copywriters. The right person brings a sharp eye for fashion imagery and deep knowledge of e-commerce.
Please note this role is studio based, 5 days per week.
- Manage capacity planning and resource allocation across all studio functions.
- Directly manage a multidisciplinary Studio team including Photographers, Stylists, Hair & Make-up Artists, Re-touchers, and Copywriters.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance studio culture.
- Oversee product flow in the studio, resourcing, client communication, and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and facilities.
- Lead pre-production planning for all ecommerce and social shoots from brief through to call sheets and shoot schedules.
- Ensure all shoots meet technical specifications for the website, mobile, and third-party channel requirements.
- Work closely with the Client and Creative teams to ensure schedules are set and imagery is delivered on time.
- Negotiate rates with freelancers, agencies, and suppliers to maximise value.
- Produce regular reporting on studio output, productivity metrics, and asset delivery performance.
- Identify and present opportunities for cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
- Ensure the team adheres to overall brand direction across all product areas and manage all client feedback.
- Manage any workflow or digital asset management systems, ensuring all assets are correctly named, tagged, and distributed to relevant stakeholders.
- Work alongside our Head of Production on the George account to establish systems and processes, improve efficiency, and optimise performance.
- Provide a seamless support service to all photo studios, supporting our Photographers, Stylists, and Hair & Make-up to ensure they are delivering each brief with exacting efficiency.
- Proactively identify bottlenecks and implement operational improvements to increase throughput and quality.
- Support in the recruitment of freelance and full-time staff.
- Build collaborative relationships with all teams.
Requirements:
- 5 years + experience in a Studio Manager role for e-commerce, ideally for a fashion retailer.
- Proven experience managing high-volume e-commerce photo shoots and overseeing a studio team.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills with a demonstrable ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable working across creative, commercial, and operational teams.
- The ability to manage a heavy workload under pressure by effectively prioritising, planning ahead, and overseeing multiple tasks at any one time.
