Overview

An experienced Commercial Lead is required to lead the re-procurement of a major infrastructure services contract within a public sector environment. This role will focus on the end-to-end delivery of a high-value, high-complexity procurement, working closely with senior commercial stakeholders.

As the newly integrated interim Commercial Lead you will take full ownership of the sourcing lifecycle, from early market engagement and requirements definition through to contract award and signature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the re-procurement of a large-scale managed services contract supporting a broad range of IT infrastructure services
  • Manage all stages of the sourcing lifecycle, including market assessment, procurement strategy, competitive flexible procedure, evaluation, and contract finalisation
  • Operate within public sector procurement governance and assurance frameworks
  • Draft and contribute to business cases and procurement documentation
  • Work collaboratively with commercial and technical stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
  • Focus exclusively on procurement delivery (no line management responsibilities)

Required Experience

  • Proven experience leading high-value, high-complexity procurements
  • Strong experience with Competitive Flexible Procedure or equivalent under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015
  • Familiarity with the Procurement Act, or equivalent experience operating under PCR 2015
  • Demonstrated experience working within a public sector environment, including governance and approvals
  • In-depth understanding of public sector procurement frameworks and best practice
  • Ability to engage confidently with technical stakeholders and infrastructure concepts
  • Experience sourcing complex technology and managed service solutions
  • Desirable experience across: Networks, Data Centres, Hosting, End User Services, Service Management

Project Scope

  • Lead the re-procurement of a managed services contract currently valued at approximately £575 million
  • Future contract scope anticipated to be £600–£900 million over a 10+ year period
  • Role is delivery-focused, with no people management responsibilities

12 months (with potential extension)

Rate

£625–£700 per day (Umbrella, inside IR35)

Location

Flexible working with travel to London approximately 2 times per week
