Bromyard Road is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full‑time 42 hours a week working 12‑hour shifts (days, nights, and weekends)

ÂŁ12.60 per hour

Bromyard Road is located in St John’s, a small suburb in Worcester. Our home is a residential service for six female residents with mental health needs or autism, with support designed specifically for those with a personality disorder. We are on a quiet street near the town centre. Our team is dedicated to supporting our residents to develop their skills so they can enjoy a happy, healthy, and independent life back in the community.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience in a similar role. However, whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our residents’ wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high‑quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you’ll also have a friendly, patient, and positive approach to work.

As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day‑to‑day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential through practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

  • Supporting personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
  • Observing, monitoring, and recording physical and emotional well‑being and quickly reporting any changes to senior staff
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

What you’ll bring to the role

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

The ideal candidate:

  • Female Support Worker
  • Nice to have a driving licence with experience of driving a manual for 3 years

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
  • Empathy, understanding and patience
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
  • The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
  • Competent in verbal and written English
  • A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential

To be considered for this role, we require you to have the right to work in the UK.

What we will give you in return

We want you to succeed at Priory and thrive in your role. You will be well supported with regular career conversations. We also offer full training and numerous pathways into leadership and qualified clinical positions to help you shape your career with us.
