Carlton House is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time role at £13.45 per hour.
Shift Patterns:
- Day/Night Shifts – 8am – 8pm / 8pm – 8am
- 2 weeks – Tuesday to Friday
- 2 weeks – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday
Due to a genuine occupational requirement, we are looking for male Support Workers. Carlton House is located in Rothwell Haigh, near Leeds. It offers residential support for 10 male residents, including those on the autism spectrum or with a learning disability. Carlton Cottage, which is immediately adjacent, offers support for a further six people, and has an all-male staff team.
Our team is dedicated to working with each individual we support on a person-centred basis to create and achieve goals to meet their own expectations.
What you'll be doing:
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents' wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, along with a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.
As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day-to-day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
- Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
- Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
- Providing assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
- Observing, monitoring, and recording physical and emotional well-being, and quickly reporting any changes to senior staff.
- Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech and Language Therapists.
