Bannister Farmis looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team.
Role type: Full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week. Various shifts between 8 am – 10 pm. Weekend work is included.
Full UK driving license is a must, as you will use our Priory vehicles to support residents in the community.
Full UK driving license – minimum of 3 years – manual/automatic
Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour & we offer a £1000 welcome bonus
Bannister Farm is located in Leyland, in Lancashire. Our home offers residential support to five autistic adults, who may also have a learning disability. The home is located off a main road, in a pleasant neighbourhood. Our team are dedicated to supporting our residents to live their life in a safe and nurturing environment.
What you’ll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents’ wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you’ll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.
As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
- Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
- Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
- Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
- Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
- Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
- Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth
