Shift Patterns

36 hours

3 * 12 hours weekly shifts | 8am – 8pm / 8pm – 8am days/nights

£12.60 per hour

Location and Service Overview

The Gables is located in the Ashby area of Scunthorpe. It offers residential support for 12 people with complex mental health needs. We provide an integrated step-down service from hospital, locked rehabilitation and for individuals who may require a step up from the community. Our team are dedicated in working in partnership with the people we care for to take control and have belief in their potential, making positive outcomes and recovery a reality for everyone, regardless of age or presumed ability.

What you\’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth
