Eastrop House is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time role with a salary of £28,828.80 per year, working 42 hours per week on a 3 x 14 hour shifts basis, including weekends. Eastrop House, located in Basingstoke, offers residential support for nine autistic people, as well as those with a learning disability or mental health needs. The house is on a quiet street, near the town centre.
Our team is dedicated to supporting our residents to improve their quality of life by promoting their independence around life skills and community access. It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.
What you’ll be doing:

- As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity, and treatment of residents.
- You will provide support with day-to-day activities while encouraging and promoting independent living.
- Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and personal care.
- Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
- Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of individuals.
- Providing assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
- Observing, monitoring, and recording physical and emotional well-being, and quickly reporting any changes to senior staff.
- Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists.
