Priory Combs Court is looking to recruit a Waking Nights - Support Worker to join our team. This is a full time position with a salary of £13.20 an hour for 37.5 hours a week, working from 8pm to 8:30am on a 2 week rolling rota.

Combs Court is a residential service located in Stowmarket, Suffolk, supporting up to 29 adult males and females who have a primary learning disability diagnosis. Our team is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, providing them with the skills needed for a healthier and happier life back in the community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and personal care.
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of individuals.
  • Providing assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
  • Observing, monitoring, and recording physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to senior staff.
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists.
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and resilience.
  • Demonstrating initiative and the ability to work in a person-centred way.
  • Ability to work alongside people to develop their potential and skills.
  • Empathy, understanding, and patience.
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
  • Competent in verbal and written English.
  • A social care qualification is desirable, but not essential.
