Priory Hazelwood House is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role with a salary of £26,300 per annum. The shifts are Day & Night: 07:30 - 19:45 & 19:30 - 08:00. The working pattern is Week 1= (Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun) & Week 2= (Wed, Thurs, Fri), working 2 weeks days then 2 weeks nights on a rota.
Priory Hospital Hazelwood House, in Heath, Derbyshire, is a low secure unit for males with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, who have additional complex care needs, including autism and mental health needs. We are committed to delivering clinically effective, evidence-based treatment programmes for individuals who require secure care, providing both psychological and physical security.
What you'll be doing:
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing.
- Assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans.
- Undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
- Providing practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities.
- Observing and monitoring the wellbeing of patients and referring any unusual occurrences to senior staff/the primary nurse.
- Providing specific interventions with patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse.
- Contributing to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participating in regular ward meetings and attending other meetings as requested.
- Assisting in the maintenance of stock levels and ward cleanliness.
- Developing and maintaining a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors.
- Ensuring service users are gaining a quality service that is value for their money.
- Receiving and conveying information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner.
