Bishops Way is located in the coastal town of St Leonards-on-Sea near Hastings, East Sussex. It offers residential support for three females who have Prader‑Willi syndrome (PWS). Our team is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment where our residents can be fully involved in their care and support in order to lead a more independent and fulfilling future.
What you'll be doing
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents' wellbeing.

- As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans.
- You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
- You will help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support.
- You will supervise colleagues, lead team meetings and support your peers with their performance and professional development.
- Assist with the management of site petty cash and client funds.
- Support with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
- Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
- Provide assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well‑being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
- Support the development of important family connections and liaise with specialists.
- Encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.
What you'll bring to the role
- 12‑18 months previous experience in a similar setting.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature.
- Empathy, understanding and patience.
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
- Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
- The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges.
- Competent in verbal and written English.
- A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential.
