Victoria House are looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time role at £12.60 per hour, with a mixture of days and nights, totalling 37.5 hours per week.

Victoria House is a residential service based in Farnborough, Hampshire, which provides slower stream rehabilitation for adults with long-term neurological conditions, traumatic or acquired brain injury through medium or long-term placements. It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

What you’ll be doing:

  • As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity, and treatment of residents.
  • You will provide support with day-to-day activities while encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and personal care.
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of individuals.
  • Providing assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
  • Observing, monitoring, and recording physical and emotional well-being, and quickly reporting any changes to senior staff.
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.

What you’ll bring to the role:
