Priory Robinson House are looking to recruit Support Workers to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week with 12-hour shifts (08:00 - 20:00) and alternating weekends required. The pay is £12.90 per hour, with one sleep-in shift required weekly at a fixed rate of £35.

Robinson House is located in Soham, Ely, and offers residential support for 10 people who have a primary learning disability diagnosis. Our team is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, providing everyone who stays with us with the skills needed to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience in a similar role. However, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours to make a difference in people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion in caring for the people we support.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be part of a compassionate team committed to our residents' wellbeing.
  • Take a personalised approach using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence.
  • Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans.
  • Provide support with day-to-day activities while encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • Support with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and hoisting/moving & handling tasks.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of individuals.
  • Provide assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to senior staff.
  • Support the development of important family connections and liaise with specialists.
  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.
