We are looking to recruit a Support Worker Waking nights to join our team. This is a full time role, 20.00pm - 8.30am x 3 shifts per week with alternate weekends at £13.75 per hour. Ogilvie Court is located in Earls Colne, near Colchester. It offers residential support for 22 males and females with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, and other associated needs. We are in a rural location, surrounded by lovely views and beautiful countryside.

Our team is dedicated to providing the people we care for with the skills needed for them to live a healthier and happier life back in the community. We can also support people who are on the autism spectrum and those who have physical disabilities. It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

What you’ll be doing:

  • We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
  • Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths.
  • As a Support Worker waking nights, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of our residents and tenants.
  • You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • Encouraging people to live as independently as possible, while supporting them in building their life skills and achieving goals at their own pace.
  • Supporting tenants in a person centred way, which can include assisting with personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living skills, including maintenance of their tenancy.
  • Complete daily administration of electronic and paper records with the involvement of the individual as appropriate.
  • Supporting the individual in maintaining their health and wellbeing, which may involve liaising with other specialists.
  • Supporting and encouraging the individual’s participation and integration in the local community through activities and interests that meet their ambitions and help them achieve outcomes in their chosen way.
  • Embedding the REACH standards in everyday practice.
  • Following company policies and procedures.
