The Priory Learning Trust (Somerset Business Award winner for Employer of the Year 2023) is looking to recruit a Science Technician to work at The King Alfred School – An Academy in Highbridge – rated \’Good\’ by Ofsted November 2022.
This role will suit an enthusiastic individual who is able to multi-task, has willingness to learn & develop and is flexible/adaptable in their approach. The successful applicant must be organised, resilient, have a passion for Science and can work together as part of a collaborative team. The candidate will also have strong attention to detail and will cover Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
This is a very exciting opportunity to join our fantastic highly skilled and fast-paced Science department!
As part of this role, you will;
- Work under the direction of class teacher(s), discuss timetables, equipment requirements and work plans and ensure that all required classroom, laboratory and workshop science resources and materials are available and ready for use when needed.
- Cleaning, preparation and assembly of technical materials, apparatus and equipment, their safe storage, and the disposal of used or waste products in accordance with school policies and procedures and, where appropriate, statutory regulations.
- Assist with the preparation and organisation of displays of learning material or pupil’s work under the direction of the classroom teacher(s). Also, use technical knowledge and skills to contribute to mounting of displays and exhibitions within the school, generally.
The successful candidate will have;
- Ideally a City and Guilds or equivalent vocational qualification to Level 3.
- Strong practical and organisational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
