Riverbank is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join the team. This is a full position at 37.5 hours / 3 days per week, including a mixture of day and night shifts. Shift times will be – Days 8:00 am – 8:30 pm / Nights 8:00 pm - 8:30 am. Weekend work included. £12.90 per hour.

Riverbank is located in Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The service offers residential support for 24 people with mental health needs. Our team is dedicated to supporting residents to live independently in the community, increasing their quality of life. Riverbank offers a step-down service from hospital or locked rehabilitation units and also supports people who may require a step up from the community. What you’ll be doing:

You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our residents' wellbeing. As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity, and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day-to-day activities while encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
  • Empathy, understanding, and patience
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
  • The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
  • Competent in verbal and written English
  • A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
