Lead the launch of a new residential addiction service and shape something from the ground up. Priory is opening Horizon House in Nottingham, and we are looking for an experienced Service Manager to play a pivotal role in bringing it to life. The successful candidate will be required to become the CQC Registered Manager for Horizon House, holding overall responsibility for the safe, effective and compliant operation of the service. Horizon House is part of our therapy-led model of addiction treatment, placing high-quality care, structured recovery and personalised support at the centre of everything we do. This is an opportunity to build and lead a brand-new service, create a strong and accountable team culture, and establish the standards, reputation and operational foundations needed for long-term success. As part of our expanding network of residential addiction services, Horizon House will deliver our pioneering Flourish programme in a calm, therapeutic environment designed for recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • As Service Manager, you will lead the day-to-day running of this therapy-led residential service, creating a safe, supportive and high-performing environment for clients and colleagues.
  • You will hold overall responsibility for quality, regulatory compliance, safeguarding, workforce and operational performance, working closely with the Therapy Lead and wider leadership team to deliver consistently strong outcomes.
  • You will also take ownership of the service's commercial performance and development, including staffing, occupancy and budget control, while building strong relationships with commissioners, referrers and professional partners.

About Flourish

Delivered by qualified therapists in a non-medical setting, Flourish offers a distinct alternative to traditional hospital-based treatment. Designed for individuals who do not require medical detox or ongoing clinical intervention, the programme focuses on structured therapy, meaningful community connection, and practical tools to support lasting recovery.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We are looking for an experienced service leader with a strong understanding of addiction treatment and recovery, together with the operational judgement and leadership capability needed to take full accountability for a regulated residential service. You will be comfortable leading specialist and multidisciplinary colleagues, including professionals whose clinical or therapeutic expertise may sit outside your own professional background, while maintaining clear accountability for service quality, consistency and performance.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Significant experience within addiction or substance misuse services
  • A proven track record as a Service Manager, or equivalent senior operational leader, within a regulated care, treatment or specialist service
  • Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding, governance and quality standards
  • Experience of leading multidisciplinary or specialist teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including working with external professionals and partners
  • A clear commitment to person-centred, recovery-focused care

It would be beneficial (but not essential) if you also have:

  • Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager
  • Experience of opening, mobilising or developing a residential service
  • Experience working with Local Authority commissioners
  • A service-specific qualification in addiction
  • Professional registration such as NMC, HCPC or Social Work England

We want you to succeed at Priory and thrive in your role. You will be well supported with regular career conversations. We also offer full training and numerous pathways into leadership and qualified clinical positions to help you shape your career with us.
