Priory Hospital Burgess Hill has an opportunity for a Consultant Psychologist with an HCPC registration to join our team.
This role is a 12-month maternity cover from October 2026 to October 2027
Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is a specialist across both of our wards.
Conveniently located in Hassocks, Priory Hospital Burgess Hill, Goddards Green, West Sussex is an acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) service for adult males.
The hospital is close to the A23, providing road access to Brighton, Gatwick and the M25.
Due to the rural location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.
What you'll be doing
You will join the team across all of our wards.
We have a Bespoke therapeutic placement in Acute and PICU.
In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care
- You will provide support and guidance to other psychologists, assistants and trainee psychologists.
- You will be working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the population in the service area.
- You will develop and deliver formulation led care and be competent in a range of therapeutic delivery.
- You will be responsible for the delivery of/oversight of supervision and running reflective practice groups and do so with an understanding of the model underpinning your service.

What you'll bring to the role
Essential for the role Consultant Psychologist
Applicants must be HCPC registered with a minimum of five years post-registration experience at Consultant level, demonstrating leadership and strategic experience.
Essential training includes CBT and at least two further therapeutic modalities, including at least one intervention appropriate to the patient group.
