Priory Hospital Preston has an opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team on our eating disorders unit. This role is offered on a Part Time basis working 22.5 hours per week. Pro Rata salary for this role is £108,528.

Priory Hospital Preston, Bartle, near Preston is a mental health hospital offering services for adult males and females with acute mental health needs and eating disorders across four wards. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes and Preston railway station nearby. The M55 motorway is also easily accessible.

What you'll be doing

  • Play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and take overall responsibility for patient care.
  • Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, strategic reviews, and therapeutic planning.
  • Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
  • Oversee referrals, admissions, and contribute to pre-admission assessments.
  • Provide specialist psychiatric expertise to multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Applicants must hold MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification), a CCT (or equivalent) and be included on the GMC Specialist Register, along with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to the speciality.
  • Ability to work within and lead a team, and a commitment to shared leadership, collaborative working, and service improvement.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
