About The Priory Care Home, Chippenham

The Priory Care Home is a privately owned residential care home in Chippenham, Wiltshire, providing a warm and homely environment for up to 23 residents in a beautiful Grade II listed Edwardian building. We are one of the most respected care homes in Wiltshire — CQC registered and immensely proud of the high standards we maintain across every aspect of our home.

A clean, fresh, well-maintained environment is fundamental to the dignity and wellbeing of our residents. Our Housekeeping team plays a vital role in ensuring The Priory always feels, looks and smells like a beautiful home — not a care facility — and we could not maintain our standards without them.

The Housekeeping Assistant Role

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis, primarily working morning shifts. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout resident rooms, communal areas and staff spaces, working respectfully and discreetly within residents’ personal spaces at all times.

Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is preferred, but full induction training is provided. What is most important is an eye for detail, a pride in your work, and a respectful, friendly manner when working in residents’ rooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain resident rooms to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Clean communal areas including corridors, lounges, dining rooms and bathrooms
  • Launder, iron and manage residents’ clothing, bedding and linen
  • Follow all infection control procedures and COSHH guidelines correctly
  • Report any maintenance issues, damage or safety concerns promptly
  • Work respectfully, quietly and discreetly within residents’ personal spaces
  • Assist with the preparation of rooms for new residents as required
