The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

To assist the Shop Manager or support the operation by covering a shop in the absence of the Shop Manager to help maximise income from sales. You will work on the shop floor, deal with cash and donations, and help ensure the shop is safe and attractive to customers. Good customer service skills are essential. As part of the shop team, you will help to promote awareness of the Hospice cause and philosophy. You will comply with all Hospice and retail procedures and relevant legislation.

Main duties of the job:

  • Covering for Shop Managers during periods of absence and supporting ongoing operational needs across multiple sites.
  • Maximising income through great customer service, attractive merchandising and effective stock handling.
  • Championing our Hospice’s vital work in the community.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Have retail experience and strong customer service skills.
  • Be able to merchandise stock effectively and handle donations.
  • Be friendly, flexible, and able to work independently.
  • Be willing to work across multiple locations local to the Hospice.
  • Have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle (desirable).
  • A commitment to the Hospice’s values and mission.

At The Prince of Wales Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care in a supportive and respectful environment. Our 14-bed inpatient unit, located just minutes from Junction 32 of the M62 in Pontefract, also offers outpatient and community services, including a successful Lymphoedema clinic.

Location: Across our 10 charity shops within the Five Towns area.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Display and merchandising and stock skills.
  • Previous charity retail experience.
  • Experience of working with volunteers.
KNOWLEDGE
  • Ability to safely undertake manual handling operations.
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
  • Good standard of education with numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training.
