As a Healthcare Assistant, you will:
- Support patients with personal care and day-to-day activities
- Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses
- Assist with clinical tasks appropriate to your level of training
- Support patients, their families, and your colleagues within the clinical environment
- Help us deliver truly holistic care – meeting medical, emotional, social and spiritual needs
What we’re looking for:
- Compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic
- A good communicator and team player
- Eager to learn and develop their skills in palliative care
- NVQ Level 2 in a care related subject (or equivalent such as the Care Certificate and experience in end-of-life care) qualified
- NVQ Level 3 in a care related subject qualified (desirable)

Our 14-bed inpatient unit, located just minutes from Junction 32 of the M62 in Pontefract, also offers outpatient and community services, including a successful Lymphoedema clinic.

Person Specification:
Qualifications/Training:- Level 2 NVQ in a care related subject or equivalent (Level 3 qualification desirable)
- Evidence of clinical personal development and maintaining skills
- Good communication skills (verbal, non-verbal and written)
- Knowledge of cancer and long-term conditions
- Ability to motivate self and others and to work as part of a team
- Working either in a hospice setting or working with patients with life limiting illnesses
- Able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work
- Awareness of a life limiting illness other than cancer
- Possess good interpersonal skills
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to working practice to facilitate effective team working
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating environments and complex situations
