About the role
As a Housekeeper, you will keep residents’ rooms and the whole home clean, hygienic and comfortable. You will help protect residents from infection and make sure the home feels warm and homely.
Key responsibilities
- Clean residents’ bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges, dining rooms and communal areas to a high standard
- Follow daily, weekly and deep-clean schedules, and record cleaning completed
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including colour-coded equipment and outbreak cleaning
- Use cleaning products safely and in line with COSHH guidance
- Make beds and change linen as needed
- Respect residents’ rooms and belongings, and chat with residents as you work
- Report any repairs, hazards or concerns to the Head Housekeeper or manager
- Help keep stock of cleaning materials and equipment in good order
- Support the laundry team when needed
- Follow safeguarding, fire safety and health and safety procedures
About you
- High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail
- Reliability, good time-keeping and the ability to work on your own or in a team
- A friendly, respectful manner with residents, visitors and colleagues
- Willingness to learn and follow infection control and health and safety procedures
- Knowledge of COSHH and infection prevention and control
Full training will be given.
