You will work alongside our Registered Manager to make sure every resident receives safe, high-quality, person-centred care, and that our team feels supported, skilled and valued.

About the role

As Clinical Deputy Manager, you will be the clinical lead for the home and will deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence. You will combine hands-on nursing with leadership, mentoring and governance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and support nurses, nursing associates and care staff, including supervisions, appraisals and clinical competency checks
  • Make sure care plans and risk assessments are person-centred, accurate and regularly reviewed with residents and families
  • Oversee safe medicines management, including audits and staff competency
  • Monitor clinical risks such as falls, pressure care, nutrition, infection prevention and deterioration, and act on trends
  • Carry out pre-admission assessments and support smooth admissions and hospital discharges
  • Lead clinical audits, incident investigations and safeguarding referrals, and make sure learning is shared
  • Work in partnership with GPs, district nurses, hospices, social workers and other professionals
  • Help prepare for and respond to CQC inspections, supporting the home to meet regulatory standards
  • Take part in rotas, staffing planning and the on-call rota
  • Promote a positive, open culture where residents’ dignity, choice and wellbeing come first

About you

  • Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with current, unrestricted NMC registration
  • Sound knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS
  • Confident clinical decision-making and excellent communication skills
  • A warm, person-centred approach and a commitment to high standards
  • A leadership or management qualification, or willingness to work towards one (for example the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care)

What we offer

  • Competitive hourly rate of £22.41
  • Funded leadership development and support with NMC revalidation
  • Employee assistance programme and wellbeing support
  • Recognition schemes and a supportive, friendly team
  • Free DBS check and paid induction

In addition to this vacancy, we are also looking for dedicated colleagues to join our Bank team. Bank staff work flexible shifts across our care homes, helping provide high-quality care when extra support is needed. This is ideal for anyone seeking flexible hours and the opportunity to work across different locations.

Roseville Care Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people we care for. The successful candidate will need an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
