We're looking for a Field Sales Representative to help us grow our customer base, strengthen relationships across industries, and identify new opportunities for both our Sales and Project Solutions teams.

The Role

Fully supported by our Business Development, Sales & Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across key sectors including flooring, coatings, concrete repair, infrastructure and construction. You’ll spend much of your time visiting customers, attending sites, delivering demonstrations, supporting industry events and building relationships that lead to long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify target areas, sectors and customers both locally and nationally.
  • Plan and coordinate customer visits to build relationships and generate new opportunities.
  • Generate and qualify leads for the Sales Department.
  • Develop new business opportunities across key market sectors.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective customers.
  • Work alongside the Business Development, Sales & Marketing Manager to convert opportunities into sales.
  • Support the continued growth of large machine sales across the UK.
  • Coordinate and deliver equipment demonstrations where required.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor movements and industry trends.
  • Represent The Preparation Group at trade shows, exhibitions, networking events and industry functions.
  • Support training days and customer events at our purpose-built Training School in Lincoln.
  • Contribute ideas and market insight to support ongoing marketing, content, PR, advertising and event activity.
  • Provide regular updates on activity, opportunities and performance.
  • Maintain accurate customer and prospect records within our CRM system.

What We're Looking For

  • A confident communicator who enjoys building relationships.
  • Experience in field sales, business development or account management.
  • Someone who is self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills are essential.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to spot opportunities and turn them into results.
  • A willingness to travel throughout the UK.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Experience within construction, flooring, surface preparation, plant, equipment hire or related industries would be advantageous, but attitude, energy and relationship-building skills are equally important.

Why Join The Preparation Group?

You’ll be joining a business with more than three decades of industry experience, a strong reputation, and a customer base that values expertise, reliability and long-term relationships. Our customers don't just buy machines, they rely on us for technical support, training, servicing, repairs, hire equipment and practical advice.
