The Premier League is seeking an experienced Senior Internal Communications Manager to lead the development and execution of strategic internal communications (IC) across the organization. The role will collaborate with People, Culture and Inclusion, and the Executive Office to shape the approach to internal communications and staff engagement, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision, strategy, culture, and values.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the Premier League’s internal communications strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, culture, behaviours, and values.
  • Develop a full-season IC plan aligned to key campaigns, initiatives, and activations, including engaging content plans.
  • Integrate change communications into plans, understanding timelines and impact of changes on stakeholders.
  • Manage day‑to‑day internal communications across the Premier League and coordinate with affiliated entities/group companies to ensure consistency where required.
  • Craft clear, creative, and timely communications materials that drive awareness, inspire action, and resonate with staff across various IC channels and forums.
  • Advise senior leaders and ELT members on effective leadership communication and staff engagement.
  • Partner with the People team to support year‑round people‑related projects, including the annual staff engagement survey and communications from the Chief People Officer.
  • Develop internal Executive Office communications, including staff presentations, in collaboration with relevant team members.
  • Collaborate with the broader Communications team to consider IC in external campaign plans and manage reputational/media matters with a staff lens.
  • Lead internal stakeholder/working groups to set the IC direction and engage departmental IC representatives to assist the flow of information.
  • Manage and evolve core internal communication channels, including the weekly staff newsletter, all‑staff updates, and digital IC platforms such as Viva Engage.
  • Develop measurement and analytics for internal communication channels to inform continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience in a senior internal communications position, ideally within companies that have gone through periods of growth and change.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing creative, strategic internal communications plans within complex, fast‑paced organisations, leveraging brand content and experiences for internal engagement.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – able to influence at all levels and adapt communications for a range of internal audiences.
  • Collaborative and capable of driving projects with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing sensitive communications issues involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Motivated self‑starter with a focus on delivery of high‑quality materials and attention to detail.
