Following a recent strategic merger and significant growth within Private Client and Court of Protection workstreams, this specialist claimant costs practice is expanding its senior team. This is a key strategic hire. The firm is looking for an experienced Senior Costs Consultant who can operate independently, manage complex caseloads, and potentially support wider team development as the department continues structured growth. Hybrid working is highly flexible, with minimal enforced office attendance.
The Role
- Run high-value claimant files cradle to grave
- Draft and manage complex Bills of Costs
- Prepare and manage Budgets (Precedent H)
- Draft Points of Reply and conduct negotiations
- Support junior team members where required
- Contribute to maintaining strong client relationships
- Potentially support business development initiatives
Work is predominantly claimant-based (99.9%) with a strong emphasis on:
- Court of Protection
- Litigation-related costs
- Minimal exposure to low-value fixed costs work.
Requirements
- Based in Leeds, Liverpool, Carlisle or commutable distance
- At least 8 years Claimant-side costs experience
- Ability to run files fully cradle to grave
- Strong technical drafting competency
- Budget drafting + Points of Reply + negotiations experience essential
Salary £45,000 to £60,000, depending on experience
