Role: Senior Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (PICU & NICU)
Site: The Portland Hospital, London
Hours: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week between Monday‑Friday 0900‑1700, with contribution to on‑call and weekend requirements on a rota basis
Shifts: 7.5 hour shifts Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Contract Type: Fixed‑term to cover Maternity leave until 27th February 2027

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist Pharmacist to join The Portland Hospital for Women and Children, currently rated “Good” by the CQC. The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children, caring for more than 40,000 children every year. We have a spacious, modern 18 bed unit within PICU, equipped with the latest technology and cutting‑edge treatment all of which is medically supported by our team of Consultant Paediatric Intensivists 24/7.

As a Senior Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for working across all aspects of the core pharmacy with main focus on PICU but not exclusively. Other service requirements include provision of medicines management, advice and evidence‑based practice to women’s and paediatric inpatients and outpatients, risk management and clinical governance; quality improvement projects and training of junior staff. This role will be predominantly ward based with dispensary cover when required.
What You’ll Bring:
- MPharm (or equivalent) and registered with the GPhC
- Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent) or willingness to enrol
- Post‑qualification hospital experience in specialist areas: paediatrics, women’s health and critical care
