Location: London – The Portland's Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK.
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract until October 2026.
Hours: 1x 12‑hour shift per week; 4‑week rota includes a mix of day and night shifts, weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation in accordance with General Medical Council and hospital governance standards.
- Participate in daily ward rounds, MDT meetings, handovers, and case reviews to support continuity of patient care.
- Support the management of high‑risk obstetric patients, including hypertensive disorders, gestational diabetes, multiple pregnancies, and obstetric emergencies.
- Provide compassionate counselling and clear communication to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, procedures, and post‑operative care.
- Supervise and support junior doctors, medical students, and clinical staff where appropriate.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management activities to enhance patient safety and service delivery.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations including postpartum haemorrhage, eclampsia, sepsis, shoulder dystocia, and neonatal emergencies.
- Assist in coordinating patient discharge planning, follow‑up care, and referrals to relevant specialties and community services.
Qualifications:
- GMC Registration with License to Practice in the UK.
- MBBS qualification with significant post‑qualification experience and training in obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Competency in managing a wide range of obstetric and gynaecological conditions, including performing difficult deliveries, instrumental deliveries, emergency LSCS, and surgery for obstetric and gynaecological emergencies (e.g., PPH).
- Competency in managing obstetric and gynaecological patients, including prescribing medications and facilitating discussions with patients and their families.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or an equivalent recognized qualification and proficiency in resuscitation, airway management, defibrillation, and initiating treatment in high‑dependency or critical care settings.
