Location – The Portland Hospital, Great Portland Street, London

Contract – Permanent, Full time, 40 hours/week. Monday – Sunday various shifts between 7:00 – 21:30. On the very rare occasion, you may be asked to cover a night shift (20:00 – 8:00).

Salary – £30,784 per annum + benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development).

We’re looking for a Porter to join our Front of House team based at The Portland Hospital. Working within one of the UK’s leading private healthcare facilities, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day running of the hospital while helping to deliver an exceptional experience for patients, visitors and colleagues.

What you’ll do

  • Provide portering and security support across the hospital including transportation of mail, drugs, specimens and equipment.
  • Assist patients with luggage, room orientation and transport throughout the hospital.
  • Support hospital safety procedures including fire response, crash team response and gas bottle monitoring.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean and organised environment including car park management and waste stream handling.

What you’ll bring

  • Previous experience working within a similar role is essential.
  • A full UK driver’s licence is essential.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy hospital environment.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures and manual handling.
