Full time: 37.5 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our Neonatal Unit at The Portland Hospital. Rated "Good" by the CQC, The Portland is the UK’s only private hospital dedicated exclusively to the healthcare needs of women and children.

As a Senior Staff Nurse in our Neonatal Unit, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of clinical care. Acting as deputy to the Sister/Charge Nurse, you’ll support the day-to-day smooth running of the unit, mentor junior staff, and lead shifts when required. You’ll be a key advocate for patients and their families, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate, and effective care.

What You’ll Bring

  • NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) or NMC Adult Registered Nurse, with Qualified in Speciality Training (SCBU, HDU and ICU modules)
  • Experience working within a Neonatal Unit, including attendance to deliveries in labour ward (post‑qualification) (Essential)
  • Neonatal Life Support (provider status Essential)
  • Experience supervising and assessing students and shift leading (essential)
  • Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits
