Location: The Portland Hospital for Women and Children.

Hours: Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

Shifts: Monday to Sunday, Early (07:30‐16:00), Late (12:30‐21:00) and long days (07:30‐21:00).

Salary: Competitive + Shift Allowances.

We are looking for a Scrub Theatre Practitioner to join our Theatre department. The Portland Hospital is currently rated "Good" by the CQC. The Portland Hospital is part of the established leading private healthcare company, HCA Healthcare.

The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children. We are the UK’s largest private children’s hospital with over 46 paediatric beds including a 10-bed intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, and a day case unit. Caring for over 40,000 children a year, we provide treatment for everything from general paediatric conditions to complex craniofacial reconstruction. We have over 175 paediatric consultants available to treat children from new-born up to the age of 18.

We have 4 Elective Theatres (Including 1 Hybrid theatre) and provide a vibrant, exciting and professional environment where the advanced equipment and technology is second to none and includes fully integrated and equipped theatres. The theatre team comprises of Consultants and Practitioners who have vast experience and knowledge across a range of specialties. There are many complex procedures carried out daily, across a range of acute specialities, including Gynae & Obstetrics, as well as general and paediatric surgery.

As a Scrub Theatre Practitioner, you will be working as part of a team to ensure a high standard of nursing care and safety for patients within the theatre unit. In addition to this, you will also actively contribute to the maintenance of an environment that is conducive to the delivery and promotion of a high standard of patient care.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Current HCPC/NMC Registration
  • Post graduate experience in Theatres
  • 2 years Scrub Operating Theatre experience covering a wide range of specialities including General, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Cardiac, Neurology, Obstetrics.
