The Portland Hospital is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our finance team based at The Portland Hospital. This role plays an important part in supporting the financial operations of one of the UK’s leading private hospitals. You’ll work closely with the Management Accountant and senior stakeholders, developing an understanding of how financial insight supports decision making in a healthcare setting. Your day‑to‑day work will include reporting, financial processing, and month‑end support.
What You’ll Do
- Support the preparation of daily and monthly financial reports and productivity reporting
- Manage invoice coding and processing within the accounts payable system, ensuring timely approvals
- Assist with prepayments, accruals and month end procedures
- Maintain accurate financial records and support balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide ad‑hoc administrative and financial support, working closely with senior stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role
- Strong numerical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- A proactive approach with a desire to learn, develop and study towards ACCA or CIMA
