The Portland Hospital is the only private maternity hospital in the UK, dedicated to women’s and children’s healthcare. As an Advanced Paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapist, you will provide specialist physiotherapy interventions for children and young people aged 0‑18 with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. You will work alongside the Physiotherapy lead, Outpatient Lead, and the MDT, and supervise a rotational Band 6 physiotherapist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, set goals, and develop treatment plans for inpatient orthopaedic caseload, including equipment provision, orthoses and discharge planning.
  • Provide clinical support in PICU, neuro‑rehabilitation, acute wards and women’s health wards (postnatal, maternity, gynaecology).
  • Apply expert clinical reasoning to deliver specialist intervention and advice, ensuring best practice at all times.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date treatment records detailing patient plans and progress.
  • Ensure physiotherapy sessions commence on time and patients are charged appropriately.
  • Work flexibly to meet service needs and participate in out‑of‑hours weekend and standby duties as required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Registered with the HCPC.
  • Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Highly specialist experience in Paediatric Orthopaedics and/or MSK.
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient acute hospital settings.
  • Experience working with multiple disciplines within physiotherapy, including rotations.
  • Experience in Women’s Health Physiotherapy is desirable.
