The Fundraising Officer will drive the growth and diversification of income for both The Police Treatment Centres and The Police Children’s Charity. The role is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding a range of fundraising channels—including third-party fundraising, grants and trusts, charity lottery and corporate sponsorship. By building strong relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering effective fundraising initiatives, the Fundraising Officer will play a key role in strengthening the long-term resilience and impact of both organisations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support and develop relationships with individuals, community groups, and corporate partners undertaking independent fundraising activities.
  • Provide guidance, resources, and materials to ensure fundraisers are supported and aligned with brand values.
  • Monitor and evaluate third-party fundraising income and activities to maximise opportunities.

Grants and Trusts

  • Research and identify potential grant and trust funding opportunities aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Prepare compelling and well-researched funding applications and proposals.
  • Maintain a grants pipeline and reporting calendar to ensure timely submissions and follow-ups.
  • Manage relationships with funders, ensuring accurate reporting and stewardship.

Lottery (Administration and Development)

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of the charity’s lottery programme, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop strategies to grow lottery participation and income.
  • Work with the Communications Officer to plan and deliver social media and marketing campaigns promoting the lottery.
  • Monitor performance metrics and produce reports to support data-driven development.

Sponsorship Development

  • Identify and approach potential sponsors for events, programmes, or campaigns.
  • Create sponsorship proposals and packages tailored to the needs and interests of potential partners.
  • Manage sponsor relationships to ensure mutual benefit and long-term engagement.
  • Evaluate sponsorship outcomes and maintain accurate records of all agreements.

Relationships and Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with supporters, funders, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the organisation at external events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and coordinated efforts.

Other duties & responsibilities

  • Present to new recruits, retired officers and attend conferences.
  • Ensure adequate communication of proposed changes.
  • Be proactive in the adoption and promotion of agreed changes.
  • Take a positive approach to new initiatives and opportunities.
  • Flexibility to travel on occasions.
  • Observe all the Charity’s policies and regulations.
  • The role will require travel together with some weekend and evening work. On occasion there may also be the requirement to be away from home overnight.
  • Undertake such other duties and tasks as may lie within the scope of this post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service.
