Job Summary: This role will translate, proof, edit and review a wide variety of video game and brand-related material such as press releases, websites, social media copy, and video subtitles, from English to Italian, as well as helping to provide linguistic support to other brand and marketing-related projects where appropriate.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with the Transcreation and Editing teams to adapt videogame marketing material to meet high linguistic quality and cultural requirements, following appropriate product specific‑terminology glossaries and language style guides to ensure consistency and cultural conformity.
  • Take responsibility for day‑to‑day tasks, developing functional experience across a range of Pokémon videogame marketing products and task types.
  • Translate, edit, review, and proof a variety of company‑wide marketing materials, such as video scripts and subtitles, website copy, patch notes, LiveOps text, social media posts, Organised Play rulebooks and event information, and marketing copy for other purposes such as digital assets and printed materials, and edit for grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, tone and slang, as well as ensuring that all marketing translations faithfully and consistently communicate stakeholders’ intended messaging.
  • Maintain close and consistent communication with other Transcreation Specialists and the Transcreation Management team, managing individual time and bandwidth alongside the teams’ to ensure across‑the‑board coverage for our wide range of day‑to‑day tasks.
  • Ensure consistency in style and terminology.
  • Adapt text information to suit the needs of various audiences.
  • Interact daily with other teams and departments on matters of terminology and style.
  • Ensure consistency by applying a sound knowledge of the brand and internal guidelines, supporting new members of the team in gaining an equal level of knowledge.

What you’ll bring:

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • Ability to adapt to using specialised technical programs and workflows quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate, edit, revise and/or rewrite text‑based content in language of expertise.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and proven experience handling multiple simultaneous projects, including publishing under regular deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication, time management and teamwork skills.
  • Experience working as part of a small team an advantage.
  • Ability to work flexibly in an environment that features tight deadlines and shifting schedules.
  • Must have native‑speaker or fluent level proficiency in language of expertise, as well as fluent English.
  • Knowledge of other FIGSL languages desirable.
  • Knowledge of MemoQ is a plus, as is knowledge of asset review tools such as FrameIO and subtitling software.
  • Experience in the gaming industry and/or knowledge of the Pokémon brand is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between £37,300.00 - £48,700 per year. The full range is £37,300.00 - £65,300 per year. This range is applicable for the labour market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
