We’re looking for a talented and creatively driven in-house Videographer & Editor to join The Podcast Guys®. This is a hands-on role at the heart of a fast-evolving industry, where podcasts and video podcasts are continuously redefining how stories are told and experienced. You’ll play a key part in shaping that evolution - crafting compelling visual content that brings branded podcasts to life across YouTube, social platforms, live events, and beyond. With a current 40/60 split between shooting and post-production, this role offers a strong focus on editing while still giving you the opportunity to influence how content is captured.

Working closely with Producers and collaborators, you’ll help design and execute production setups that not only meet creative briefs but elevate them. While podcasts are our core, our work often extends far beyond the sit down conversation. As a trusted content partner to our clients, we film globally across a wide range of environments - from scientific labs to cinema roundtables with Roger Deakins, to capturing stories on the ground at New York’s Climate Week. The variety is part of the role, and no two projects are ever the same. From polished video podcasts and audio-first podcasts for platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts, to fast-turnaround social clips and live event coverage, you’ll be responsible for delivering content that is engaging, agile, and aligned with brand goals. You’ll also support ad-hoc productions - whether that’s running remote recordings via Riverside or editing on the ground at conferences - thriving in an environment where adaptability and creative instinct are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-Production and Planning: Work closely with producers to understand their creative vision and create kit list requirements. Recce shoot locations to identify lighting/sound/camera setups and flag any issues with the Producer quickly. Organise packing/hire/transportation of all shoot kit to and from the office to the shoot location. Ensure all other ad-hoc pre-production activities set a strong foundation for successful shoots and edits.
  • Video Production: Lighting setup for podcast capture, multi-person interviews, and social capture across non-studio settings. Camera setup and operations - ensuring aperture, focus, colour profile, frame rate etc delivers high quality consistent look and feel. Sound setup - be able to capture high quality audio via lapels, boom, dynamic mics and operate Rodecaster podcast mixers. DIT - Backup data from all shoots on location and back at office to ensure timely delivery to post production teams. Unpack kit from all shoots, reporting any equipment problems and organising repairs or recommending new purchases. Exhibit excellent on-set etiquette with production team members and clients.
  • Post-Production and Editing: Video & audio editing, sound design, colour grading, and the creation of platform-specific assets. Ensure all projects, folders, and file naming conventions are followed in line with company policy & best practice. Work within branded templates & create subtitles and name straps within brand guidelines. Create engaging YouTube teaser trailers, with dynamic text, lower thirds and graphics. QC your own work thoroughly prior to sharing with producers for review. Master and archive all creative materials in accordance with company policy and best practice.
  • Client and Team Collaboration: Collaborate with producers and clients to align video content with their goals, tone, and branding. Support team members by sharing best practices and contributing to ideation sessions.
  • Trend Awareness and Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on video production trends, YouTube optimisation techniques, and digital storytelling practices. Share insights with the team during weekly knowledge-sharing sessions.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience shooting and editing video content (long form and short form), with a portfolio that showcases your storytelling abilities and technical skills.
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail. No kit missing from shoot days or obvious editing errors!
  • Strong understanding of the technical aspects of video production, including lighting, sound, and camera operation.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and flag potential issues with the producers and wider team in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to use post-production software, including Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects and FrameIO. Experience working with Lucid Link a huge plus.
  • Knowledgeable or keen understanding about YouTube optimisation, SEO strategies, and platform algorithms.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • A strong communicator, capable of working collaboratively with clients and internal teams.
  • Passionate about storytelling, digital trends, and creating content that resonates with audiences.
