At The Plough Shiplake, we aren\’t just aiming to be another local; we are striving to be the best pub in Oxfordshire (and Tripadvisor recently agreed ). Our owner is on the floor and in the thick of it every day, obsessing over industry standards and ensuring we operate at the highest level.
We\’ve built a young, energetic, and incredibly tight-knit team—most of whom have been together for nearly two years. Now, we are looking for three talented individuals to join our family.
The Opportunities
Over the coming months, we will have three exciting opportunities on our kitchen team. We are currently recruiting for:
Sous Chef: A leader and mentor who can maintain our high standards and run the pass with confidence. (starting no later March
Chef de Partie: A passionate cook ready to take ownership of their section and showcase the best of British produce. (starting no later than 29 January 2026)
Commis Chef: Someone eager to learn, with a strong work ethic and a genuine love for fresh ingredients. (starting immediately)

A desire to work in a fast-paced environment where the owner and Head Chef are both deeply involved and committed to your professional growth.
Relevant experience for the role you are applying for (though for a Commis, a great attitude is just as important as experience).
