We are currently hiring a pivotal Head of FP & A role for our client, acting as the number two to the CFO and supporting the business through its next phase of growth, including funding exercises and M&A activity. It’s a great time to join. A new CEO has reshaped the culture with a collaborative and transparent mindset, making an impact instantly in his short tenure introducing hybrid working, new values across the business and a business plan that every member of staff can see their role in.
This role goes far beyond traditional forecasting and budgeting; you’ll be the strategic finance lead, working closely with investors, the board, and senior leaders. You’ll bring challenge, direction and insight, acting as a genuine business partner at the heart of decision-making. Our client is a well-established service-sector business with PE backing and a turnover of just under £20 million, who are seeking a commercially focused and technically strong Head of FP&A.
Your Responsibilities:
- Own the FP&A function
- Act as a senior business partner, influencing decision-making across the group.
- Support the CFO with investor relations, board reporting, and funding processes.
- Get involved in strategic projects, including M&A and PE-backed transformation.
- Challenge assumptions and forecasts – this is a role that requires confidence and clarity.
- Lead a commercial finance team, with plans for future growth.
What You’ll Bring:
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with at least 5 years’ post-qualified experience.
- Strong FP&A experience, ideally with exposure to private equity or M&A.
- A natural business partner, confident, articulate and able to push back when needed.
- Experience in building and managing financial models.
- Leadership skills, someone who can inspire, grow and lead.
- Background from either a current Head of FP&A or a Commercial Finance Manager ready to step up.
