Litigation Senior Associate (Relocation to Jersey)

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Litigation Senior Associate to join a highly regarded legal team in Jersey. The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for managing litigation matters, working with minimal senior oversight, and supervising junior team members. This role involves extensive client contact and the opportunity to contribute to business development initiatives.

The position offers exposure to a broad spectrum of litigation work, including trust disputes, insolvency and restructuring, commercial litigation (with a focus on shareholder and property disputes), fraud, asset recovery, regulatory enforcement, and alternative dispute resolution. The team represents a diverse client base, including insolvency professionals, financial institutions, fiduciary service providers, commercial entities, and private individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of client matters as delegated, including legal research, drafting, reviewing documentation, and preparing cases for court.
• Deliver high-quality, timely, and professional legal services to meet client needs.
• Manage billing, time recording, and financial aspects of casework effectively.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members as required.
• Support business development initiatives, including promoting and expanding the firm’s litigation services.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and contribute to the growth of the litigation practice.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, risk, and firm-wide policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified lawyer with at least 6 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), holding a qualification from Jersey, the UK, or a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• Strong technical legal ability and experience handling complex litigation matters.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues.
• Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
• Business development experience or a willingness to engage in client relationship building.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
