About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Town Planning professional to join our busy Development Management team in the role of Planning Enforcement Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Line manager for a team of 3 Planning Enforcement Officers
  • Investigate and resolve breaches of planning control throughout the County Borough
  • Work with other Lead Officers in the Development Management team and the Head of Service to improve the service and shape its future direction
  • Conduct site visits and attend committee meetings as required
  • Utilise Zoom and Microsoft Teams for meetings and maintain in‑person attendance as necessary

Qualifications

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject
  • Relevant experience in town planning and enforcement
  • Valid driving licence
  • Membership of the RTPI desirable
  • Leadership abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to deliver a robust and responsive planning enforcement service
